In the 1980s, the Heunet couple from Northern France were making home-made beignets to sell locally at markets before increasing production and creating a dedicated company in Tincques, Northern France, under the Les Délices des 7 Vallées name which became part of the Mademoiselle Desserts Group in 2018.
These mini beignets are made following a traditional local recipe featuring a Brioche dough made from quality ingredients such as fresh yeast, eggs and butter; the small dough balls are then deep fried, filled and coated in icing sugar but could also be eaten plain. This traditional recipe creates a unique eating experience, with a very light and airy sensation.
While Mini Beignets might look like small doughnuts at first sight, they are actually very different and will bring a premium, more permissible French twist to everyday snacking and dessert occasions.
Their bite-size format along with the quality of their ingredients make them particularly relevant with today’s consumer needs around better quality products, healthier eating and premiumisation.
